Vitabot

I set up my Vitabot account today and it will be interesting to see how the program analyzes the food I eat, you know - the food that I believe is healthy!  Entering all those 'repeat' foods in the favorites section will be helpful in quickly entering my daily food intake.  Perhaps after a week or two of entries I will be able to identify on my own and make some changes based on what Vitabot tells me.  My thanks to Katelyn for the training session, and I'm looking forward to my meeting with Cori to help steer me in the right direction – the scale number going down!

1st Challenge

Wednesday night presented my first social challenge.  It was an evening spent with girlfriends at a friend's home, which is a monthly gathering.  Lots of delicious food was served, last night's spread included lasagna, mini-quiches, salad, tomato/cheese appetizers and to top it off was an oreo cookie/pudding dessert served in mini dessert glasses.

 

I knew I needed to plan for this evening.  First, I made sure I drank my 64 oz of water (I actually drank 84!), and did a great cardio workout after work.  For dinner I enjoyed a baked tilapia fillet accompanied by peas (I love them).  It was a quick, healthy meal and off I went to socialize, water bottle in hand. 

 

Though I was tempted by all the delicious food presented, I did not stray.  This is the first week of Lighten Up 2014 and I have a long way to go, slow and steady…

Positive Attitude

Our weigh in was on Saturday and we heard so many encouraging words from several individuals!  I returned home and prepared my grocery list which included many healthy foods.  I've tried to remove all those 'bad' foods from my home that just seem to call my name.  Sunday I had a great workout and spent some time prepping my food/meals for the week.  If I make sure my healthy foods are available and ready to eat then I shouldn't be tempted to stray.  Today I was focused on drinking water, I don't think I have ever drank 64 oz in a single day, but I did it today!!  Worked out again tonight, and I'm sure I will sleep well.  Really looking forward to the weeks ahead with my positive attitude!
